- Adapting to Change
Change and risk are usually associated with uncertainty; they create fear of negative future outcomes in most people. For many schools, this leads to excessively risk-averse behavior, where administrators try to avoid danger at all costs. However, adapting to change and accepting reasonable risks are critical to operating a successful school. This session provides direction and examples of how to handle the changes and risks facing schools today.
- You Can Frame Security’s Image on Your School Site
It’s often not the carrot or the stick but is instead the urge to conform that often determines whether or not campus safety rules are followed. Security professionals who find a way to frame compliance messages in such a way may achieve increased retention and participation with regard to revised security measures at a school site. Whether it’s classroom size, budget cuts, or technology implementation – framing the problem correctly helps ensure the program’s success.
